Climatic trend 

Spring at Castello Pomino was particularly rainy. In March, April, and May alone, around 420 mm of rainfall was recorded, more than double compared to the same period in the previous year. The sprouting of the vines came to an end during the second week of April, in line with the average time frame for Pomino, while flowering came slightly earlier than expected. The version of the vines began in the second half of July, gradually coming to an end in the first ten days of August.

Vinification and aging

Once harvested, the Pinot Noir grapes were fermented at a controlled temperature in 60 hl oak-wood conical trunk vats. The grapes were pressed manually, particularly in the early stages, allowing anthocyanins and polyphenols to be properly extracted from the skins. Maceration took two weeks in total. After alcoholic fermentation, malolactic fermentation took place in French oakwood barriques. The Pinot Noir continued to age in barriques for a further 15 months. Before it was ready to taste, it was bottle-aged for a further period to complete the process and ensure a high-quality end product.

Notes

Pomino Pinot Nero 2018 boasts a bright, elegant ruby-red colour and light garnet hues. The bouquet offers aromas of small red and black fruits, including raspberries and wild strawberries, as well as delicate hints of black cherry, blueberry, and blackberry. With time, these blend together with delicate spiced notes, including cinnamon, star anise, and white pepper. The wood aging brings out toasted notes and hints of tobacco and coffee. Fresh and mineral in taste, the attack balances well with the alcoholic notes. It is fresh, well-balanced and the taste and smell correspond beautifully. An elegant, velvety wine with silky tannins and a long finish.

How long will the entire ordering process take from order submission to delivery? 

We will do our best to deliver your product as fast as possible, depending on your location.  Based on the record, the usual shipping time is 3-7 days.

After submitting your order, what's next?

- Our staff will manually review all orders of that day. The order review will be completed within 24 hours. It includes checking all customer's info, shipping address, spelling errors, missing street number or other details, etc. Within this period, cancellation is still possible.

- After the order review, all orders of that day will be fulfilled. It includes packaging, sorting, and dispatching. In this stage, NO CANCELLATION is accepted.

All orders are shipped with a tracking number, so you can track it every step of the way!  Packages may face delays beyond our control such as postal delays.

We do have pretty easy and straightforward refund & cancellation policies.  

We will issue a full refund back to your original payment method used IF AND ONLY IF:

- Your order gets lost while in transit.  You may also opt for a resend.  Resends will take 3-7 days, just like placing a new order.

- You received an incorrect item.  In this situation, we will require you to send a photo.  You may also opt for a resend.  Resends will take 3-7 days, just like placing a new order.  If resend, we will email you a prepaid shipping label, and you will need to send the incorrect wine back to us.  

- You received a damaged item.  We will require you to send a proof of damage.  You may also opt for a resend.  Resends will take 3-7 days, just like placing a new order.  If resend, we will email you a prepaid shipping label, and you will need to send the incorrect wine back to us.

- If your order is delayed (more than 20 days) due to reasons we have no control of like postal delay, we will issue a compensation store credit in the form of a coupon code.

We will NOT issue a refund if:

- After 24 hours from placing the order, you have changed your mind and decided not to proceed with the order.

- After 24 hours from placing the order, you have decided to change the wine brand.  Please refer to our RETURN | EXCHANGE policies.

- You have entered an incorrect shipping address or any misspelled info resulting in a failed delivery.

CANCELLATION

We are happy to cancel orders within 24 hours from order placement, because during this stage, it's still under review.  If it's more than 24 hours, that means your order has been fulfilled OR in-queue for dispatch, and cancellation is no longer possible.

BROKEN WINES RECEIVED

For broken wines and you opt for a resend, we will require a proof of damage.  Then, we will send you a new wine, free of charge of course.  Resends will take 3-7 days, just like placing a new order.

If you want a refund, we will issue a full refund back to the original payment method used.

INCORRECT DELIVERY

For incorrect delivery, you may opt for a refund or a replacement.  If refund, we will send you a prepaid shipping label (so that it will be no cost to you), and you will need to send the incorrect wine back to us.  Then, we will issue a full refund back to the original payment method used.

If replacement, still you will need to send the incorrect wine back to us, and we will send you a prepaid shipping label.  Then, we will send you a new wine, free of charge of course.  Resends will take 3-7 days, just like placing a new order.

If you receive a correct item and you just want to replace it with a different wine, you will need to send the original wine back to us at your own expense.  Then, once we receive it, we will issue a store credit in the form of a code, and you will use that store credit to make a new purchase.

We will require some proofs of damage or incorrect delivery like a photo or a video.
